In December 1999, I entered the worldwide Millennium Photo Project, submitting three photographs taken on New Year's Eve. The project honoured me with the Judges Award for one of them.
I was the only Malaysian whose photograph appeared among the top 50 selected worldwide, published in the "Dawn of the 21st Century" book sold internationally.
The winning image was exhibited from June 2001 to May 2002 in the Departures Gate area of the International Terminal at O'Hare International Airport, Chicago — seen by more than three million travellers.
